While the bombs have stopped falling, tens of thousands of Lebanese are suffering from this year's war in the form of disrupted lives, economic hardship and traumatised children.
Australian born developer, Joseph Frangieh recently visited his family's village in Lebanon, where his father grew up. Joseph Frangieh talked with the local priest who advised on the most urgent needs for the community. Based on this advice Joseph Frangieh has committed to building a much needed mortuary and donating this facility to the local hospital. "It's the least I can do to alleviate some of the suffering there" he commented.
Official figures estimate that of the million people who fled their homes when hostilities began, 200,000 Lebanese were still displaced as at September 2008.
Like so many others, Joseph wants to contribute in whatever way is easiest for him. Joseph Frangieh's building knowledge will be used to create the structure which will replace one of the bomb destroyed mortuaries there.
